The 4 walls of FPV:
1. RF is a single point of failure. FPV lives on a 5-20 Mbps video stream - wide, loud, easy to kill. A 50W jammer drops it at 2-3 km. Video doesn't degrade gracefully: lose 30% of packets and it's over. On, or dead.

2. Human reaction is a fixed constant. ~200ms - biology, not budget. At 110 m/s closing speed, the target moves 22m in one reaction. On the terminal phase that's not a near-miss - it's a guaranteed miss.

3. One pilot, one drone, one target. Forever. Ten targets = ten pilots, ten controllers, ten clean channels, ten rotations against fatigue. You can't out-train a demographic bottleneck.

4. A 2D feed isn't awareness. No depth, no periphery, no redundancy. Nightfall, smoke or sun glare, and the whole perception stack collapses to zero. One sensor fails - one pilot goes blind.

The 5 pillars of what comes next:

1. Intent-based autonomy. The operator declares the "what" - neutralize sector B, hold this perimeter. The machine resolves the "how." Human on-the-loop, not in-the-loop.

2. Heterogeneous sensor fusion. Perception as a probability field, not a video frame.

3. GNSS-denied resilience. VIO, SLAM, terrain referencing that never drifts and can't be jammed. Resilience designed in, not bolted on.

4. Predictive guidance at machine speed. Pilots aim where the target is; the machine aims where it'll be - EKF target prediction, proportional navigation, optimal intercept solved at 100+ Hz.
Wall #2 isn't a bug to fix; it's a gap the machine never had.

5.Decentralized swarm logic. Drones share intent, not video. One commander, clean math, and ORCA-based coordination break the 1:1 wall. A swarm needs one commander - not ten pilots.

Anyway, FPV won because it was cheap and it was now. The next era belongs to systems that see in multiple spectra, navigate without satellites, decide at machine speed, and move as a swarm.

We're not adding AI to a remote-controlled camera. We're building the machine that sees what a pilot never could.
It will plateau because it hits a physics wall no pilot can climb.

FPV drones rewrote the playbook. Cheap, accessible, devastating. But at SpearX, building autonomous interceptors for the next decade, we keep reaching the same conclusion: FPV is a tactical masterpiece on a strategic dead end.

The ceiling isn't political or economic. It's physical. And physics doesn't negotiate.
